It's About Time | Perris Valley Church 4.18.21

 

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NLT)

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. 2 A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. 3 A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. 4 A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. 5 A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. 6 A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. 7 A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. 8 A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.

 

 

Family Time is a Two-way Street.

 

 

Colossians 3:2-6, 7, 13 (NLT)

2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. 5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you.  7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world.  13 Make allowance for each other's faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

 

 

Colossians 3:14-15 (NLT)

14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

 

 

God Solved Our Family Time Problem Before We Even Knew We Had A Family Time Problem.

 

Romans 15:5-6 (ESV)

5 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

You Can't Get A Refund on Misused Time.

18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.

20 Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord.

21 Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged.

6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

 

Your Church Family Needs your Time

 

Ecclesiastes 4:7-12 (NLT)

I observed yet another example of something meaningless under the sun. 8 This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But then he asks himself, "Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now?" It is all so meaningless and depressing.

9 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
