Sermon Manuscript: Galatians 6:1-10
Transformational Point: Christians have the responsibility to lead others out of sin
Galatians 6:1 (NLT)
6 Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
For Christians, Sin is your business.
1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (NLT)
14 But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. 15 Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others.
James 5:19-20 (NLT)
19 My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, 20 you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.
Galatians 6:2-5 (NLT)
Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. 3 If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
4 Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else. 5 For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
There is no one better for the job of helping others than you are.
1 Corinthians 3:18-22 (NASB)
18 Take care that no one deceives himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. 21 So then, no one is to be boasting in people. For all things belong to you,
7 Don't be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
All your actions are seeds. They will either bloom and lead others or they will choke and die in great company.
2 Corinthians 9:6 (NASB)
6 Now I say this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows generously will also reap generously.
Job 4:8 (NASB)
8 According to what I have seen, those who plow wrongdoing And those who sow trouble harvest it.
James 3:16-18 (NASB)
16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Galatians 6:9-10 (NLT)
9 So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
You are not done harvesting blessings unless you are done planting seeds.
1 Corinthians 15:58 (NASB)
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be firm, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
James 5:7-8 (NASB)
7 Therefore be patient, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. 8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.
